Alfa Romeo is a brand that prides itself on craftsmanship, luxury, and performance. We at Alfa Romeo of Winter Haven consider it our privilege to provide this standard to our customers. And when we found out that one of the biggest vehicle markets in the country decided to honor Alfa Romeo for its crossover utility vehicle, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, with a very prestigious award, we were ecstatic.
The Texas Truck Rodeo is a two-week event hosted by the Texas Auto Writers Association. Nearly 70 journalists test 60 vehicles and vote across several different categories, putting them through their paces. And while a fellow FCA US LLC vehicle, the 2019 RAM 1500, won the overall Truck of the Texas award, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio won both the Luxury CUV and the overall CUV of Texas awards.
“It was also noteworthy that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles swept the overall awards at this year’s competition,” said TAWA president Michael Marrs.
While TAWA didn’t really give us specifics on what was tested, we have a few ideas of our own. With eight inches of ground clearance and an immense 505-horsepower engine, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio is an off-road performer from the ground up, but it still retains a high level of luxury from the outside in. The standard Harman/Kardon sound system and 8.8-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ capability ensure that every ride is a pleasant experience for all riders.

Just a few short years ago, the notion of a performance SUV was practically unthinkable. A combination of falling gas prices and changing tastes has turned the unthinkable into something routine as several luxury and performance car companies have scrambled to join a segment that’s suddenly a hot commodity. Alfa Romeo is already prepping its entry, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Read the rest of this entry
Alfa-Romeo has a simple strategy for North America: aggressively court American buyers looking for a certain level of swagger with their performance cars. For its initial US relaunch, the company chose to throw its weight behind the Alfa Romeo 4C. In 2017, that car will get some company here at Alfa Romeo of Winter Haven. Read the rest of this entry
If the Alfa Romeo Giulia sounded familiar to you when rumors of the car first started to circulate in 2015, you weren’t alone. The deja vu came from the fact that an earlier Alfa Romeo carried that name for more than a decade, becoming a legend in the process. More than most car makers, Alfa Romeo is mindful of its past even as it looks to the future. That appreciation of heritage means that a 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia will arrive soon at Alfa Romeo of Winter Haven, and will be seen prowling the streets of Auburndale and Lakeland shortly after.
The Type 105 and Type 115 series Alfa Romeo Giulia debuted in 1962, and would be discontinued 16 years later. In its original guise, its available engines put out between 80 and 110 horsepower, while the boxy shape of its sedan and coupe variants belied a car that was surprisingly nimble.
In many ways, the new Alfa Romeo Giulia couldn’t be much further from the 1962 model that inaugurated the line. The 2017 version comes standard with a 2.0-liter, 276 horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s standard with an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive. Other standard features include leather seats, push-button start, dual exhaust, and an infotainment system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen. Upgrades include an 8.8-inch touchscreen and adaptive cruise control. Opt for the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and you’ll be treated to a 505-horsepower engine that makes the 80 hp in the 1962 model seem like a lawn mower engine by comparison.
FIAT Chrysler Automobiles, the parent company of FCA US LLC, has pumped $5.6 billion into revitalizing the Alfa Romeo brand. The 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C was the first fruit of those efforts, showcasing a company that’s recommitted to the kind of design, engineering, and exhilarating driving experience that originally built the Alfa Romeo name. Our Auburndale customers can see the 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C at Alfa Romeo of Winter Haven now, and will be able to see the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia here soon. As Alfa Romeo makes its return to North America after a long absence, it’s time for automotive enthusiasts from Auburndale and Lakeland to reacquaint themselves with the century-old Italian marque. While the 2016 Alfa Romeo 4C available at Alfa Romeo of Winter Haven bears all the hallmarks of a legend in its own right, a reminder of the company’s long heritage is also in order. To that end, we introduce the 1939 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Lungo Spider, a rare Alfa Romeo that’s expected to sell at a record price when it goes on the auction block at RM Sotheby’s in Monterey, CA later in August.
